Sharing the Gospel
"but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect"
1 Peter 3:15, ESV
Our goal as Christians should be to invite those around us into a relationship with Jesus, but all too often we focus our efforts on inviting them to just attend church. This page features several resources that will help you share the Gospel story and show others the reason for the hope you have.
Christianity Explored offers coursework in evangelism. It also has helpful resources that clearly and concisely outline the Gospel story by answering three questions: Who is Jesus? Why did Jesus Come? and What does it mean for us? The research and teaching derive from All Souls Church where John Stott pastored.
"Strategic Evangelism: Helpful Outreach Tools" is an online article from Christianity Today that offers external links to a variety of evangelism resources.
The Story is a five minute animated video that explains how God created the universe, how man fell into sin, and how God has a plan for our salvation. From Genesis to Revelation, this crash course in the Bible is an excellent introductory resource.
Christianity Today's article "Strategic Evangelism: 3 Effective Outreach Opportunities" explains the best ways established churches can focus their evangelism efforts on those outside the church.
"A Better Way to Invite People to Church – And to Jesus" is another Christianity Today article that includes some great reminders about the importance of placing relationship building before a Sunday service invitation.
