Our Mission:

Central Christian Church exists to glorify God, seek the lost, nurture believers, and serve one another in compassion and love.

Our Vision:

Central Christian Church's vision is to build disciples that will impact our community in Jesus' name.

We believe that the Bible is the inspired lord of God that reveals His will for mankind with obvious continuity from the Old Testament into the New Testament. We also believe that God’s design for the church is revealed specifically in the New Testament.

Here is the scriptural basis for what we believe:

The Bible is the inspired, infallible, authoritative, word of God.

2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21

There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

1 Corinthians 8:6; Matthew 28:19-20; Ephesians 4:4-6; John 14:7

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His perfect sinless life, His miracles, His substitutionary death on the cross as payment for all the sins of mankind, His bodily resurrection, and His physical ascension into Heaven.

Matthew 3:17; 1 Peter 1:19, 2:21-25; Matthew 1:18-23, 28:1-6; Acts 1:9; John 2:9, 4:46, 5:5-9

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, whose guidance and gifts enable us to live godly lives in this world.

Galatians 5:22-25; John 14:26; Romans 8:26-27; 1 Corinthians 12:4-7

We believe in the personal and imminent return Jesus Christ to Earth.

John 14:3; Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:14-18

We believe in the resurrection of the dead of both the saved and unsaved; the saved for eternity in Heaven; the lost for eternal punishment.

Matthew 25:31-32; Revelation 20:4-15; 1 Corinthians 15:51-52

We believe in the New Testament pattern of observing communion each Lord’s day.

Luke 22:19; Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 11:23-29

We believe that the New Testament name “Christians” does not exclude others but defines our church.

Acts 11:26

We believe that the New Testament gives us the following pattern for salvation, and we practice this pattern for membership:

  • One must hear the Gospel message (Romans 10:17)
  • Believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior (John 3:15-16, Hebrews 11:6)
  • Repent of sins (Acts 2:38, 3:19, 17:30)
  • Confess Christ as God’s son (Matthew 10:32, Romans 10:9-10)
  • Choose to be baptized by immersion (John 3:5-7, Acts 2:38, 1 Peter 3:18-22, Matthew 28:19-20, Romans 6:1-8)
  • Continue to live a life of prayer and discipleship (Romans 1:17, 2 Peter 3:18, Revelation 2:10, Acts 2:42, Colossians 4:2, Philippians 4:6)

Central Christian Church Membership Covenant

Having received Jesus as my Lord and Savior and been immersed, I now feel led by the Holy Spirit to unite with the Central Christian church family.

In doing so, I commit myself to God and to the other members to do the following:

I. I will protect the unity of my church

...By acting in love toward other members

...By refusing to gossip

...By following the leaders

“May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Romans 15:5-6 (NIV)

“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of our mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs...” Eph. 4:29 (NIV)

“Obey your leaders and submit to their authority. They keep watch over you as men who must give an account. Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be no advantage to you.” Hebrews 13:17 (NIV)

II. I will share the responsibility of my church

...By praying for its growth

...By inviting the unchurched to attend

...By warmly welcoming those who visit

“To the church...we always thank God for you and pray for you constantly.” 1 Thessalonians 1:1-2

“Go out into the country...and urge anyone you find to come in, so that My House will be full.” Luke 14:23 (LB)

“So, warmly welcome each other into the church, just as Christ has warmly welcomed you; then God will be glorified.” Romans 15:7 (LB)

III. I will serve the ministry of my church

...By discovering my gifts, my talents, my purpose

...By being prepared to serve as a disciple of our Lord

...By developing a servant’s heart

“Serve one another with the particular gifts God has given each of you...” 1 Peter 4:10 (Ph)

“God gave...some to be pastors and teachers to prepare God’s people for works of ministry, so that the body of Christ may be built up” Eph. 4:11-12

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20

“Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Your attitude should be the same as that of Jesus Christ...who took on the very nature of a servant...” Philippians 2:3-4, 7

IV. I will support the testimony of my church

...By attending faithfully

...By living a godly life in this community

...By giving regularly to the ministry of this church

“Let us not give up the habit of meeting together...but let us encourage one another.” Hebrews 10:25

“Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ.” Philippians 1:27 (NIV)

“Each one of you, on the first day of each week, should set aside a specific sum of money in proportion to what you have earned and use it for the offering.” 1 Corinthians 16:2

The vision of Central Christian Church is:

To make disciples that will impact this community in Jesus’ name.

I understand the vision of this church and the expectations of its members. With God’s help and to the best of

my ability I will endeavor to uphold and support this congregation and its leadership.
